Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Core (ranked 3805 p4p, 3086 weight class) and Knife Face (ranked 444 p4p, 389 weight class). Core comes into the arena with Undead blaring out of the sound system. Knife Face has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Core! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Knife Face! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Core fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Face feints the counter takedown. Core pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Face tries for a takedown but Core circles away easily and Core counters with a left and a right that stings Face. Face shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Core's guard. Core is trying to keep Face in close.
Core is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Face is working Core over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Face stopping the sweep attempt from Core. Face with a nice head shot there. Face lands a couple of elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Core is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Face is aware though and is defending well. Face lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Core is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Face lands a couple of digs. Oh Core is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Face told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Face landing some decent shots from guard. Face avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Core bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Face's guard. Core prevents Face from getting back to his feet. Core seems to have got his legs back now. Core is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Face really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Core. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Core won't allow Face to get back to his feet. Face keeping moving, preventing Core from controlling successfully. Face wants to stand up but Core is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Core forces Face back against the cage and clinches. Face takes an elbow to the temple. Core jumps into guard, dragging Face to the mat.
Face content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Core has momentary wrist control but Face slips an elbow through the middle. Face makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Core is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Face pushing down on Core's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Core is staying active underneath Face, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Face looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Core looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Core is trying to control but can't.
Core is breathing heavily. Face wants to lay and pray for a moment but Core keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Face working over Core with some ground and pound. Core looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Core is looking for a sweep. Face is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Face working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Face winds up and cracks Core with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Face is keen to just control but Core is a slippery customer. Face working Core over with strikes. Face takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Core is trying to control but can't.
Face lands strikes from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Core is looking to escape. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Knife Face will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Face closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Core quickly recovers to half guard. Core wants to control but Face is keeping busy.
Ground and pound from Face. Core is trying to maintain the position but Face is very close to passing his half guard. Face scores with a big shot! Core's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Core! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Knife Face! A pretty intense looking Knife Face took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title. David Core spoke after the fight, saying 'I am going to work on my shortcomings to come back even stronger!'.
