Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Catara (ranked 6297 p4p, 6027 weight class) and Walter Hamilton (ranked 630 p4p, 616 weight class). Catara comes to the cage accompanied by Everlong. Hamilton has chosen A Perfect Circle - Hourglass as his entrance music. Dan Catara has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Catara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Walter Hamilton! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamilton tries to clinch and Catara decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hamilton's guard. Catara content to stall in guard here. Catara stands and steps away. Hamilton gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Catara scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Catara controlling the pace. Catara working Hamilton over with strikes. Catara controlling the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Catara is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Catara is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Catara frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hamilton looks winded! Catara landing shots from mount. Catara with good strikes from the mount here! Catara controlling from mount. Catara's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Catara lands a nice shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Catara is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hamilton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Catara tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hamilton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Catara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Catara looking to secure an arm triangle but Hamilton defends it well. Catara landing strikes, looking to finish! Catara controlling the position easily from mount. Catara will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
