Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hercules Fortier (ranked 1543 p4p, 826 weight class) and Bruno Neves (ranked 182 p4p, 104 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hercules Fortier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Bruno Neves!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fortier instigates a clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Neves has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A frustrated look appears on Neves's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Neves working aggressively here.
Fortier wants to take the fight to the mat but Neves manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Neves is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Fortier wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hercules Fortier. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fortier is trying to trip Neves. He has hold of a leg but Neves is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Fortier persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Neves holds on and takes a little breather.

Fortier drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Neves dives on top into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Neves in particular looking to stall.
Fortier makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fortier.

Fortier has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Neves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Neves engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Fortier not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Fortier looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Neves would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Fortier keeping full guard, as Neves tries to pass.
Neves controls from within his opponent's guard.

Fortier is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fortier is looking to control Neves's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fortier avoid being mounted?
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Fortier is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Neves pulls his head out easily.
Neves is trying to control. Fortier wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Fortier walks into a stiff left hand from Neves.

It looks like Hercules Fortier has been cut.

Neves darts in and clinches Fortier up against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fortier blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Fortier is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Neves can't fight it off and eventually Fortier manages to take the fight to the floor. Neves looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neves controls Fortier momentarily but Fortier frees himself.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bruno Neves will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Fortier ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bruno Neves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fortier shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Neves defends it nicely.
Fortier walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Neves digs a good hook to Fortier's body.
Fortier closes this distance looking for a takedown but Neves circles away.
Neves lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Neves dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neves misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fortier.

Fortier dives in and scores a takedown into Neves's guard.
Fortier wants to pass the guard but Neves is keeping the position.

Fortier has gone for a leg lock! Neves slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fortier's guard.

Neves passes into half guard.
Neves seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Neves is trying to control the action in half guard but Fortier is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Neves passes into side control, despite Fortier's attempt to control the position.
Neves wants to take a breather but Fortier manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Neves.

Neves is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Fortier is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Neves with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Fortier has a hand on Neves's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Neves takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Fortier is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Fortier prevents Neves from taking his back.
Fortier is desperately trying to improve his position but Neves has a good base and remains in mount.
Neves looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fortier is wriggling around trying to escape.
Fortier is trying to reverse the position but instead Neves has taken his back - oops!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fortier prevents Neves from getting a body triangle.
Fortier tries to escape the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bruno Neves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Fortier slips a jab from Neves.
Fortier throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Neves's waist but Neves gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fortier off to one side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fortier looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Neves ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fortier moves away.
A big left from Neves misses.
Fortier drops down looking for a counter takedown but Neves sprawls and moves away.
Neves is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fortier.
Fortier bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Neves lands a nice looking body shot.
Neves feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Fortiers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Hercules Fortier's cut is getting worse.
Bruno Neves seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Neves throws a lazy right hand but Fortier sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Fortier shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Neves as he avoids it easily.
Hercules Fortier is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Neves lands a nice hook to Fortier's body. Fortier takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Neves will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fortier shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Neves defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hercules Fortier. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Neves misses with a straight left.

Neves has closed the distance and engaged Fortier in a clinch.
Fortier is trying to drag Neves to the mat but Neves just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Fortier is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Neves is defending well.
Fortier is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Neves gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Fortier goes for a takedown attempt but Neves pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Neves tries to bum rush Fortier with a series of wild strikes but Fortier uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fortier tried to counter with a leg kick but Neves avoided it.
Neves has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Neves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Neves paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Neves lands a jab to the head.

Hercules Fortier's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Neves drops Fortier with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Fortier looks back up at him and smiles so Neves waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fortier is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Neves rushes Fortier and presses him up against the cage.
Neves tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Fortier's elbow.
Fortier has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Neves after a bit of a struggle.
Neves working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Oh Fortier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jeez, Hercules Fortier's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hercules Fortier's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Bruno Neves!
