Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Curran (ranked 2299 p4p, 2558 weight class) and Japa Koniu (ranked 251 p4p, 283 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Randy Curran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 22 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Japa Koniu! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Koniu. Curran tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Curran has taken the fight to the clinch.
Koniu tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Curran avoids it. Koniu throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Curran blocks it with crossed arms. Curran tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Curran swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Curran fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Curran working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Curran fails to pull the fight into his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Curran takes a knee right on the jaw!
It looks like Randy Curran has been cut. Koniu tries to work over Curran's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Curran fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Curran has a couple of punches blocked by Koniu.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Koniu blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

That's one minute gone in the round. Curran lands a left hand that snaps the head of Koniu backwards. Curran doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Koniu tries a knee to the head but Curran blocks it.
Koniu effectively controlling the action here. Koniu is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Curran is keeping busy. Curran jumps guard but Koniu turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Koniu landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Curran is breathing heavily. Curran changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Koniu fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Curran. That's going to take a lot out of him. A looping hook to the body misses from Koniu. Curran does a little dance to reset his feet. Koniu moves out of range of the body kick from Curran.
Koniu appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Koniu scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Curran tries to close the distance and clinch but Koniu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Koniu circles away from the clinch attempt.
Koniu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. A decent looking cross lands there for Koniu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koniu throws a head kick that Curran semi-blocks.
Curran on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Koniu scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Koniu lands a glancing blow to the side of Curran's head. Koniu has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Curran is landing a low percentage of strikes. Curran keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Koniu connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Curran misses with a wild combination.
Koniu cracks Curran with an uppercut from hell and Curran crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Koniu's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Koniu gets to his feet. Curran looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Koniu misses with a wild body shot. Koniu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nice defenses there by Koniu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Curran keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Koniu. Curran throws a big counter combination but Koniu scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Curran throws a right and a left that Koniu avoids nicely. Koniu connects with a body shot that sends Curran's belly button to the back. A nice leg kick lands there from Koniu. Curran misses with a wild combination.
Koniu moves away from the strike by Curran. Curran walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Koniu throws a jab but it's blocked by Curran. Koniu slips under a jab from Curran. Koniu steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Curran is looking to clinch but Koniu is avoiding it.
Curran clinches up with Koniu and pushes him back against the cage. Koniu blocking some punches.
Koniu lands a hook that snaps the head of Curran backwards. Curran has a couple of punches blocked by Koniu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A head punch blocked on the inside by Curran. Koniu is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Curran is defending well for now. Curran looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Curran misses with a punch on the inside.
Koniu scores with a hook to the body. Koniu looking to throw knees to the head but Curran is blocking nicely.
Koniu lands a damaging elbow. Curran can't find room to land a body shot as Koniu controls the action.
Koniu has Curran pushed against the cage. Koniu manages to break the clinch.
Curran is looking to clinch. Koniu uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Curran has time to react. Koniu throws the kick towards the body but Curran avoids it. Curran doesn't manage to clinch there - Koniu circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A low kick from Curran is predictable there and Koniu counters with a left hand that sends Curran to the canvas!
Randy Curran's cut is getting worse. Koniu decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Curran, up you get! Curran looks to land a combination but Koniu avoids it well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Japa Koniu dominated that round. The cut man is working on Randy Curran's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Curran misses with the combination.
Curran swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Koniu counters with a nice body kick.
Koniu feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Curran collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!
