Gabriel is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by New Orleans Is Sinking. Jacques Gabriel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabriel looks to land a left hand but Miocic moved out of range nicely.
Gabriel misses with a left hand
enabling Miocic to counter with a crisp jab.

Miocic drives through with a takedown into Gabriel's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Gabriel has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Miocic is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Gabriel swings wildly with an uppercut but Miocic uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gabriel misses with some punches.
Gabriel lands with a light punch inside.
Miocic misses with a short punch on the inside.
This has been an exciting period of action!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gabriel.
Miocic tries to pull guard but Gabriel won't allow it.
Miocic is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Gabriel to keep the fight standing.
Gabriel lands a shoulder strike.
Gabriel lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Gabriel as Miocic tries to tie him up.

Miocic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gabriel throws a lazy right hand but Miocic sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gabriel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Miocic has time to react.
Miocic looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gabriel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Miocic takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Miocic shoots in looking for a takedown but Gabriel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Miocic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stipe Miocic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gabriel misses with a hook. Miocic ducked under it nicely.
Miocic throws a big counter combination but Gabriel scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Gabriel drops Miocic with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Miocic looks back up at him and smiles so Gabriel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Miocic is rocked!

It looks like Stipe Miocic has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gabriel cracks Miocic with a left hook right on the temple and Miocic goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Gabriel lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Miocic is OK!
