Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baltasar Halko (ranked 4787 p4p, 6342 weight class) and Gunnar Hamundarson (ranked 168 p4p, 185 weight class). Halko comes to the cage accompanied by The Lumberjack by Jackyl. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Baltasar Halko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gunnar Hamundarson! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Halko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hamundarson as he avoids it easily. Halko shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Hamundarson trying to control here.
Halko is looking for a kimura but Hamundarson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Halko to get the leverage. Hamundarson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Hamundarson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hamundarson is trying to get back to full guard. Halko passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hamundarson!

Halko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hamundarson keeps working. Hamundarson is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Hamundarson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Halko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Halko goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hamundarson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Halko's guard! Nice work there by Hamundarson! Hamundarson wants to pass the guard but Halko is keeping the position.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hamundarson trying to control but Halko is working from the bottom. Hamundarson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Halko! Halko wants to control but Hamundarson is having none of it. Hamundarson seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Halko is holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hamundarson lands with some strikes. Halko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Halko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Halko sets himself, and Hamundarson steps forward looking for the clinch! Halko avoids it this time. A momentary lapse in concentration from Halko enables Hamundarson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Halko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Halko tries to strike from the bottom.
Hamundarson is looking to work some ground and pound but Halko has wrist control. Halko looking for a guillotine here but Hamundarson defends easily.
Halko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hamundarson's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Halko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hamundarson swivels and escapes. Hamundarson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Halko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hamundarson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Halko keeps working. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Halko is trying to get back to half guard. Hamundarson cracks Halko with a big right hand but Halko just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hamundarson is looking to take a break and control but Halko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Halko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hamundarson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. You can see the frustration on Halko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hamundarson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hamundarson wants to take a breather but Halko manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hamundarson. Halko has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gunnar Hamundarson has got the better of the ground game so far. Halko is looking for a triangle but Hamundarson pushes his legs off easily.
