And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniko Montpoisante!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Mayhem does no damage.
Mayhem throws a shot to the body.
Mayhem takes a kick to the side of the head.
Mayhem lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Montpoisante gets a clinch.
Mayhem lands with a right to the head.
With the fighters up against the cage, Montpoisante throws an elbow but misses.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mayhem creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Montpoisante swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Mayhem throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Montpoisantes head.

Mayhem presses Montpoisante against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Mayhem lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Montpoisante or not.

Mayhem stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Montpoisante throws a knee to the head but misses.
We've been hearing reports that Mayhem has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mayhem breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mayhem drops Montpoisante with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Montpoisante looks back up at him and smiles so Mayhem waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Montpoisante is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
