Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Jean Luc Petit (ranked 6054 p4p, 24113 weight class) and Valerian Pica (ranked 440 p4p, 515 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pica lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Petit throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Petit cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Petit tries a head kick but it misses.
Petit listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Pica throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pica takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Pica tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Petit was well out of range. Poor timing from Pica.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Petit missing with a left hand there. Pica was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

It looks like Jean Luc Petit has been cut.
Pica moves out of range of the body kick.
Petit throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pica.

Pica has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Petit finds it's way round the side to connect with Pica's head.
Petit throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pica let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
A slapping body kick lands there for Petit.
A chopping leg kick lands by Pica.
Petit misses with a wild body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Petit, as that shot connected.
It looks like Petit has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Pica connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Petit throws a head kick that misses
and Pica counters with a two punch combo.
Petit misses with a hook.
Despite the aggression on Pica's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Petit moves out of range of the leg kick from Pica.
Petit lands a front kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Petit throws a head kick that half lands.
Pica looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Petit throws a shot from downtown. Pica moves away and avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pica avoids the head kick by Petit.
Pica fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Petit manages to avoid it.

Pica gets a clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Pica.
Pica keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Petit's efforts to push away.
Pica lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Petit is looking to break free of the clinch but Pica has double underhooks.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Petit throws a sloppy head kick and Pica moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petit tries to get into range but Pica steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Petit! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Pica scores the big KO victory!
