These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Slugs misses.
Slugs misses with a shot to the body
and Motts counters with a stiff right hand.

Slugs has managed to clinch.
Slugs throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Slugs just misses with a elbow thrown towards Motts's brow.

Motts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Motts avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
It seemed like Motts was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Slugs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Motts, pushing him back against the cage.
Slugs throws a knee to the head but misses.
Motts can't break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Motts blocks an elbow strike from Slugs.

Motts uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Slugs has time to react.
Slugs misses with a wild body shot.
Motts throws out a counter right but Slugs avoids it with no problem.
Motts connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Motts lands the left hand.
Motts catches Slugs with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Slugs forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
