Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bob (ranked 2961 p4p, 2594 weight class) and Kaoru Hanayama (ranked 379 p4p, 341 weight class). Bob comes to the cage accompanied by Los Ninos de Sara - Vagabundo. Hanayama has chosen Plan Three - Tigress as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaoru Hanayama!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hanayama instigates a clinch.
Bob prevents a body shot from Hanayama.
Hanayama tries a body shot but Bob blocks it.
A frustrated look appears on Hanayama's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hanayama throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bob was covering up waiting for the punch and Hanayama finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bob pulls Hanayama in close to his closed guard and prevents Hanayama from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bob tries to counter by clinching up but Hanayama breaks away and moves out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hanayama.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hanayama is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Hanayama is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bob sees it coming and defends easily.

Hanayama swings around for an armbar but Bob sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hanayama's guard.

Bob drops back looking for a leg! Hanayama is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hanayama manages to kick Bob off! Bob jumps back into Hanayama's guard.

Hanayama working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bob doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bob manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kaoru Hanayama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Hanayama will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bob is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hanayama.

Hanayama is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Bob defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Hanayama looking to break Bob's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bob remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Hanayama will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hanayama doesn't have the hooks in and Bob manages to turn into his guard.

Hanayama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bob gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kaoru Hanayama comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hanayama has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
