This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 3 losses; Cathail Murphy! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Pavel Savkov! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Murphy misses with a takedown attempt - Savkov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Murphy instigates a clinch. Murphy pulls guard effortlessly. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Savkov wants to pass the guard but Murphy is keeping the position. Savkov is stalling in the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Savkov trying to control but Murphy is working from the bottom.

Savkov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murphy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Savkov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Murphy is just riding it out for now. Savkov eventually gives up the hold. Murphy wants to get back to full guard. Savkov wants to free his trapped foot but Murphy is holding on for dear life with his legs. Savkov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Savkov moves to his opponent's back but Murphy bucks him off and ends up in guard. A bit of a disaster there for Savkov. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Murphy (2) vs (3) Savkov The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Murphy looking to sit in guard and control but Savkov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Murphy (2) vs (5) Savkov Murphy keeping moving, preventing Savkov from controlling successfully. Murphy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Savkov is aware though and is defending well.

Murphy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Savkov has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Rivers Edge Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Savkov has gone for a leg lock! Murphy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Savkov's guard. No, Murphy has managed to get both his arms back between Savkov's legs - danger averted. Murphy is posturing up here but Savkov has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Murphy tries to roll out but it's too tight and Murphy has to tap! Slick submission there by Savkov!
