Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Beam Scotty (ranked 2583 p4p, 5052 weight class) and Fred El Celso (ranked 331 p4p, 548 weight class). The key to victory for Beam Scotty has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beam Scotty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fred El Celso!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scotty with a nice cross.

It looks like Fred El Celso has been cut.
Scotty avoids the body shot from El Celso.
El Celso shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scotty sprawls well. Scotty wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. El Celso gets slowly back to his feet.
El Celso throws a series of punches but Scotty moves out of range.

El Celso scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
El Celso moves into full mount!
El Celso trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Scotty can't escape the position.
El Celso wants to take Scotty's back but he can't do it this time.

El Celso is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Scotty to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Scotty shrugs it off.

El Celso wants to take Scotty's back here but Scotty is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

El Celso is working for a guillotine from mount but Scotty frees his head quite easily.

El Celso is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Scotty can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Scotty regains half guard.
Scotty wants to improve his position but El Celso is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

El Celso is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Scotty!

El Celso goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Scotty turns into him and now he's in El Celso's guard.

El Celso working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scotty doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scotty manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now El Celso is on top in guard.

El Celso stands and throws Scotty's legs to the side, diving into side control.

El Celso tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no El Celso has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

El Celso is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Scotty has escaped the position, nice work there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
El Celso throws an elbow but Scotty slips to the side and avoids it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Fred El Celso dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Fred El Celso's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Scotty tries to clinch up but El Celso circles away and keeps his distance.
El Celso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scotty's waist but Scotty gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing El Celso off to one side.
A looping hook to the body misses from Scotty. El Celso does a little dance to reset his feet.
El Celso tries to score a power double leg takedown but Scotty sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten El Celso somewhat.
Scotty buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
El Celso shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Scotty as he jumps to the side.
Beam Scotty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred El Celso.

El Celso tries to keep at a distance but Scotty has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scotty lands a hook that snaps the head of El Celso backwards.

El Celso jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Scotty walks away with a smile on his face. El Celso gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Fred El Celso is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Scotty moves into the clinch successfully.

El Celso jumps guard but Scotty stands there with El Celso around his waist. El Celso gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Scotty scores with a nice short uppercut.

El Celso tries for a takedown. No joy.
Scotty scores with a shot to the side of El Celso's head.
El Celso has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Scotty is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
El Celso wants to take the fight to the mat but Scotty manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

I was talking to Scotty's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Scotty lands with a short punch from the clinch.
El Celso is trying to pull guard but Scotty turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
El Celso's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Scotty lands a left hand.
El Celso tries to work over Scotty's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Scotty works on El Celso's body with a couple of short punches.
El Celso is breathing heavily.
Scotty gets through El Celso's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Scotty breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Scotty is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that El Celso can do to turn this around?
