Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Murzol Gro Ulfimph (ranked 731 p4p, 592 weight class) and Karl Hermann (ranked 41 p4p, 12 weight class). Gro Ulfimph comes to the cage accompanied by Hired Gun. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 14 - 2, fighting out of New York, Murzol Gro Ulfimph! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Hermann! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hermann connects with a high kick. Hermann moves into range and connects with a jab. Hermann has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Hermann throws a lazy uppercut
and Gro Ulfimph makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Jab by Hermann. Good leg kick by Hermann. Hermann throws a looping overhand right but Gro Ulfimph ducks down to avoid it. Gro Ulfimph moves away from the strike by Hermann. Hermann throws a right hand that misses
and Gro Ulfimph counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gro Ulfimph. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hermann takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Gro Ulfimph jumps guard and drags Hermann to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hermann trying to control the position from guard on top but Gro Ulfimph is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hermann wants to stand but Gro Ulfimph has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gro Ulfimph looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Gro Ulfimph trying to control the position.
Hermann is looking to stand up but Gro Ulfimph won't let him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gro Ulfimph looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hermann must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gro Ulfimph is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Hermann wants to stand but Gro Ulfimph is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hermann misses with a hook
and Gro Ulfimph counters by moving into the clinch. Hermann blocking some punches.
Hermann throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gro Ulfimphs head. Gro Ulfimph tries a body shot but Hermann blocks it.
Gro Ulfimph misses with a punch on the inside.
Gro Ulfimph is trying to pull guard but Hermann has him pressed against the cage. Hermann misses with some punches.
Hermann tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hermann swings wildly with an uppercut but Gro Ulfimph uses good head movement to avoid it. Hermann looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hermann lands a shoulder strike. Hermann stalls. Hermann tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hermann misses with some punches.
Hermann escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hermann takes a swing at Gro Ulfimph's ribcage but misses. Gro Ulfimph tries to clinch up but Hermann circles away and keeps his distance. Gro Ulfimph moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Gro Ulfimph ducks under a wild hook from Hermann. Gro Ulfimph takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Hermann throws a right and a left that both miss. Hermann throws a predictable looking body shot
and Gro Ulfimph counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hermann connects with a single shot there. Hermann walks into a straight right hand from Gro Ulfimph.
Hermann is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gro Ulfimph cracks Hermann with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Hermann is still on wobbly legs! Can Gro Ulfimph finish him? Hermann misses with a hook
letting Gro Ulfimph counter with a right hand. Gro Ulfimph drops Hermann with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Hermann! Gro Ulfimph dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Murzol Gro Ulfimph! After winning the bout, Murzol Gro Ulfimph thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
