Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edwin Lucan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Gurgen Davidyan!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lucan shoots in but Davidyan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lucan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Davidyan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A combination from Davidyan does no damage.
Davidyan lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Lucan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Davidyan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Davidyan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lucan is one step ahead there.
Lucan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lucan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lucan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lucan wants to control from the top but Davidyan keeps moving.
Lucan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Davidyan is pulling down on Lucan's head. It's preventing any offense from Lucan, at least for the moment.
Davidyan is looking to stand up but Lucan isn't so interested in that idea.
Lucan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lucan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lucan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davidyan is keeping the position for now.
Davidyan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lucan passes Davidyan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Davidyan is looking to escape.

Lucan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Davidyan sees it coming and defends easily.

Lucan seems to be working for a kimura but Davidyan defends the submission attempt.
Lucan lands strikes from half guard.
Lucan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Lucan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We've been hearing good reports from Lucan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lucan is looking for a kimura but Davidyan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lucan to get the leverage.
Davidyan tries to roll over but Lucan keeps him under control.

Davidyan is looking for a sweep. Lucan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Davidyan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Davidyan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lucan stands and steps away. Davidyan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Davidyan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lucan circles away quickly and effectively.
Lucan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Edwin Lucan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lucan misses with a combination
enabling Davidyan to counter with a crisp jab.
Lucan misses with a lunging right hand
and Davidyan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Davidyan misses the jab.
Gurgen Davidyan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Davidyan gets tackled into the cage by Lucan. Lucan maintains the clinch.
Lucan wants to get back to striking at distance but Davidyan won't allow it.
Davidyan has a couple of punches blocked by Lucan.

Davidyan breaks from the clinch.
Lucan lands a two punch combo.

It looks like Gurgen Davidyan has been cut.
Lucan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lucan lands the left hand.

Davidyan is rocked!
Davidyan dodges the punch combination from Lucan.
Davidyan is still on wobbly legs! Can Lucan finish him?
Davidyan ducks into an uppercut from Lucan and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
