Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aron Gray (ranked 6918 p4p, 5744 weight class) and Tony Hall (ranked 596 p4p, 541 weight class). Hall has chosen Maniac as his entrance music. Aron Gray has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aron Gray ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tony Hall! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Hall misses with a takedown and Gray counters into the clinch. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gray tries to break free but Hall pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gray has picked Hall up - he's going for a ride! Gray dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Hall manages to escape and get back to his feet! Hall misses with a takedown and Gray counters with a takedown into side control. Hall throws Gray to one side and escapes! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hall tries for a takedown but Gray circles away easily and Gray counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gray . Aron Gray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Hall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gray swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gray escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hall fails to land the takedown. Hall shoots in and gets a takedown into Gray 's guard. Gray has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hall is aware though and is defending well. Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gray swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gray is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hall defends well. Hall trying to control but Gray is working from the bottom. Hall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gray is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gray looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hall looking to pass the guard. Hall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. It looks like Hall might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Hall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gray looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hall looking to sit in guard and control but Gray gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tony Hall will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Gray kicks Hall off and gets to his feet. Hall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gray appears to be looking for a counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gray closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gray seems to be working for a kimura but Hall defends the submission attempt. Hall controlling the position for now. Gray is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hall defends it well. Gray is looking for a kimura but Hall is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gray to get the leverage. Gray wants to take a breather but Hall is having none of it. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hall is positioning himself well to prevent Gray advancing to mount. Gray wants to work for an arm triangle but Hall is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tony Hall has got the better of the ground game so far. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gray is working away from the top position though. Hall moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gray trying to control but Hall is working from the bottom. Hall looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gray has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gray trying to control the position from guard on top but Hall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gray drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gray jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gray looking to pass the guard. Gray trying to control the position from guard on top but Hall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hall shoots and misses and Gray moves into the clinch. Gray breaks the clinch.
Hall moves out of range of the strikes. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Hall shoots in looking for a takedown but Gray manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gray half committed to a counter leg kick. Aron Gray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Hall. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gray stuffs the takedown attempt from Hall. Hall gets slowly back to his feet. Gray appears to be looking for a counter takedown. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Aron Gray dominated that second round. That's time! Gray 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hall holds on and takes a little breather. Gray sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Hall doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Gray paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Hall - great work!
