Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Hiccup (ranked 24408 p4p, 5527 weight class) and Bad Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jr is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hitman. Bad Jr has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Hiccup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bad Jr!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jr shoots in looking for a takedown. Hiccup tries to sprawl out of it but Jr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hiccup manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jr wants it to stay on the feet.
Hiccup fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Jr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hiccup manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hiccup knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jr on the ground.

Jr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hiccup manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Hiccup closes the distance and clinches up with Jr, looking for a takedown. Hiccup pushes Jr against the cage but Jr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Hiccup. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Hiccup counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bad Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jr shoots in and bounces Hiccup off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hiccup manages to escape and get back to his feet.

and Hiccup counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hiccup shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jr's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jr is working an open guard so Hiccup takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Hiccup looks for the body kick but Jr saw that one coming.
Hiccup throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jr's waist but Jr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hiccup off to one side.
Hiccup fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hiccup shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hiccup slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Jr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hiccup defends well.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Jr manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hiccup successfully pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hiccup controls Jr momentarily but Jr frees himself.
Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Hiccup is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hiccup is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hiccup keeping moving, preventing Jr from controlling successfully.

Hiccup uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hiccup is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jr! But no joy.
Hiccup doesn't manage to clinch there - Jr circles away.
Hiccup fails with a takedown attempt.
Hiccup tries to close the distance and clinch but Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A little jabbing left from Jr on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Jr defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hiccup.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hiccup fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jr throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hiccup fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Jr clinches up against the cage.
Jr swings wildly with an uppercut but Hiccup uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hiccup is defending well against a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jr is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hiccup is trying to break the clinch but Jr has him pressed against the cage.

Hiccup is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jr to keep the fight standing.

Jr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jr shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jr misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Hiccup scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Jr is not content to let Hiccup control the position.
Jr wants to control but Hiccup postures up.
Jr tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Jr is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Hiccup looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hiccup is looking to take a break and control but Jr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hiccup has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jr gets caught napping as Hiccup dives in and scores a takedown. Jr manages to retain guard.

Hiccup gets to his feet. Jr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hiccup wants to clinch up but Jr keeps it at a distance.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jr! But no joy.
Hiccup closes the distance and clinches up with Jr, looking for a takedown. Hiccup pushes Jr against the cage but Jr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hiccup tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hiccup stalks Jr and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jr's face. Jr staggers backwards, shaken.
Jr has his takedown stuffed
and Hiccup counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Jr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Jr tries to keep at a distance but Hiccup has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hiccup tries to score a body lock takedown but Jr shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hiccup blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hiccup gets underhooks to prevent Jr's takedown attempt.

Hiccup is trying to drag Jr to the mat but Jr just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hiccup can't break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Hiccup lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jr backs up against the cage.
Jr tests Hiccup's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jr fails with the takedown
and Hiccup connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Jr is rocked!
Hiccup throws a sloppy head kick and Jr moves out of range easily.
Jr is still on wobbly legs! Can Hiccup finish him?

Hiccup lands a huge takedown. Jr is out but the ref is slow to react and Hiccup lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Jr lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Hiccup!
