PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duck Dodgers (ranked 2672 p4p, 6315 weight class) and Apollo Creed (ranked 343 p4p, 602 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creed throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dodgers ducks under a wild hook from Creed.
Creed throws a jab but it's blocked by Dodgers.
Creed avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Creed swings widly with a right hand
and Dodgers counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Apollo Creed has been cut.
Creed thows a left - swing and a miss!
Creed misses with a hook
and Creed takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dodgers is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dodgers looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dodgers misses with an uppercut
and Creed counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dodgers tries to clinch there but Creed circles away.

Creed swings widly with a right hand

and Dodgers moves into the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Creed as the two fighters clinch.
A short left from Dodgers.
Dodgers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Creed walks away with a smile on his face. Dodgers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Creed drops Dodgers with a beautiful combination! Dodgers stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Creed is looking for the KO!

It looks like Duck Dodgers has been cut.
Creed just misses with a punch to the body.
Creed lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Dodgers is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Creed looks to land a right hand but Dodgers moved out of range.
Apollo Creed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Creed ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Creed circles away from the clinch attempt
and Creed connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dodgers ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Creed throws a jab when Dodgers was well out of range.
Creed looks to land a right hand but Dodgers moved out of range.

Dodgers moves into the clinch.
Creed lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dodgers backwards.
Creed lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Creed lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Creed breaks from the clinch.
Dodgers tries to clinch there but Creed circles away.
Creed's coach down at Rivers Edge Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Creed's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Dodgers displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Creed throws out the jab.

Dodgers takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Creed keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Creed takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Dodgers slips under a jab.
Creed throws out a loose jab but Dodgers uses good head movement to avoid it.
A jab lands there for Dodgers.
Creed takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Creed lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Creed thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dodgers was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Creed ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dodgers moves away.
A counter left hand to the body from Dodgers misses its target.
Creed misses with a hook
and Dodgers counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That has opened up Apollo Creed's cut even more.
Dodgers blocks a jab.
Dodgers was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dodgers, as that shot connected.

Dodgers lands a big uppercut and Creed crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Creed looks OK. Dodgers waves Creed back to his feet!

Creed is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Creed tries to get into range but Dodgers steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Creed! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Dodgers scores the big KO victory!
