Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Brown (ranked 1778 p4p, 770 weight class) and Alec Burns (ranked 201 p4p, 94 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by CCR - Bad Moon Rising. Burns has chosen Alberto Del Rio theme song as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alec Burns!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown misses with a hook
and Burns cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Burns keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Brown.
Burns lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Oooooh!!! Burns has knocked Brown down with a huge combo! Burns steps away and waves a wobbly Brown back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Brown is rocked!
It looks like Billy Brown has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big right from Brown misses.
Burns throws a half hearted mid kick.
Brown throws a body punch but Burns moves out of range.
Brown smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Burns throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.
Burns misses with a low kick.
Burns lands a big head kick that sends Brown tumbling to the mat! Burns takes a step backwards and waves Brown back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Oh Brown is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Brown misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Burns.
Brown seems to have got his legs back now.
Brown feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Burnss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Burns tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Burns gets caught flat footed, as Brown shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Burns scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Brown connects with a nice looking jab.

Burns throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Brown throws a lazy uppercut
and Burns makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Brown really felt that one!
Brown throws a hook but Burns blocks it.
Burns is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Brown throws the left hand but Burns avoids the punch easily.
Burns fails to land with a series of punches.
Burns slips under a jab from Brown.
Burns pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brown dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
A jab lands there for Brown.
Brown throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Burns stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Burns sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Burns let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Burns throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Burns as he jumps to the side.
A cross from Burns lands.

Burns attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Burns throws a good cross that connects.
Brown connects with a single shot there.
Brown throws a hook but Burns avoids it easily.
Burns throws a head kick that misses.
Burns pivots, looking for a leg kick but Brown is out of range and Burns settles back down.
It looked like Brown wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Burns throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Brown misses with an uppercut. Burns saw that one coming.
Brown decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Burns sees it coming and defends easily.

Brown tries to pass the half guard into mount. Burns knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Burns is looking to escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brown trying to advance position but Burns counters by regaining guard.

Brown stops Burns from standing up.
Brown trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Burns keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brown throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Burns sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Burns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Burns connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Brown's hands.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Alec Burns dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Billy Brown's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Burns ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Burns throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Burns misses with a left hand
and Burns takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Brown looks to land a right hand but Burns moved out of range.
Burns lands a jab-cross combination.
Brown thows a left - swing and a miss!
Brown connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Burns throws a body kick that misses.
A little feinted left hand from Brown on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Burns throws an off balance right hand
and Brown counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Burns thinking.
Burns takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Burns moves out of range of the strikes.
Brown backing away here, and Burns unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Burns's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Brown connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Burns scrambles back to his feet.

Burns throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brown sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Brown stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Burns.
Brown bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Burns has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Brown wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Burns, who protects the arm well.

Burns gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brown swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Burns is now in Brown's guard. A big mistake from Brown there, giving up the dominant position!
Burns won't allow Brown to sweep him here.

Brown looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Burns puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Brown is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brown makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brown.
Brown had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Burns defends it easily.
Brown looking to hit a scissor sweep but Burns is one step ahead there.
Brown is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Burns is aware though and is defending well.
Brown wants to sweep but no luck.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Billy Brown will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Burns finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Brown throws a lazy right hand but Burns sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Brown cracks Burns with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Brown throws a shot from downtown. Burns moves away and avoids it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Burns! But no joy.
Burns throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.
Brown throws out a loose jab but Burns uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brown clobbers Burns with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Brown's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Burns connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Brown scrambles back to his feet.
Brown is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Burns takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brown closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Burns did well to prevent Brown getting side control.
Billy Brown overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Burns stops Brown from passing to mount.
Burns felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Burns wants to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
