Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Grant Dukes (ranked 1203 p4p, 3005 weight class) and Maximus Mwekassa (ranked 146 p4p, 338 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Dukes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Maximus Mwekassa! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dukes is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Grant Dukes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dukes throws a lazy uppercut
and Mwekassa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Dukes scores with a jab. Mwekassa acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Mwekassa misses with a right hand and Dukes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Mwekassa walks into a left hand. Mwekassa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Mwekassa tries to clinch up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mwekassa, as that shot connected.
Mwekassa scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Mwekassa slips a jab from Dukes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mwekassa. Dukes throws the left hand but Mwekassa avoids the punch easily. Dukes scores with a jab to the head.
Mwekassa getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Mwekassa ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Dukes throws an overhand right that lands on Mwekassa's shoulder, as Mwekassa tries to avoid the shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mwekassa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dukes is looking to counter punch. Dukes fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Dukes fails to land with a series of punches.

and Mwekassa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mwekassa scores with a shot to the body.
Mwekassa walks into a straight right hand from Dukes. Nice uppercut lands for Mwekassa. That snapped Dukes's head back.
Mwekassa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dukes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dukes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dukes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mwekassa can do anything to dispel that myth. Mwekassa trying to control the position.
Dukes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mwekassa's guard. Dukes moves into full mount! Mwekassa won't be happy about that! Mwekassa wants to control but Dukes is having none of it. Dukes takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Mwekassa is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Dukes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dukes seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mwekassa for as long as he can get away with. Mwekassa can't escape the position.

Mwekassa is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dukes gets his way!
Dukes has good solid back control here. Dukes working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Mwekassa is doing well to defend. Dukes seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Mwekassa is forced to tap and this one is over!
