Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mattias Lundgren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricky Conway!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lundgren moves out of range as Conway strikes.

Lundgren gets a clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Lundgren has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Lundgren tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Conway smiles and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conway throws a big shot that misses.
Lundgren jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
The fighters circling - Conway throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lundgren is looking to clinch.

Conway throws a jab but it's blocked by Lundgren.
Conway misses with a straight left.

Lundgren moves into the clinch.
Conway lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Lundgren manages to pull guard.

Lundgren is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Conway content to stall in guard here.
Lundgren has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Lundgren has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Conway is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lundgren.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Conway slows the pace down.
Conway wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lundgren keeps working.

Lundgren regains half guard.
Conway is looking to advance position but Lundgren won't allow it.
Lundgren tries to roll over but Conway keeps him under control.

Lundgren is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Conway pulls his head out easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lundgren has his takedown stuffed
and Conway counters with a straight right hand.
Lundgren bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mattias Lundgren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Conway lands a really nice looking cross but Lundgren seems unphased.

A lazy left from Conway finds it's target.
Lundgren misses with a takedown attempt - Conway sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lundgren moves in looking to clinch but Conway pushes him off.
As Lundgren backs off Conway throws a huge counter combo but Lundgren manages to avoid it all.
Ricky Conway is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Conway swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lundgren feinted with a counter takedown.
Conway swats away the attempt to clinch by Lundgren.

Lundgren shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Conway is trying to defend but Lundgren finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Conway really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lundgren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Conway won't allow Lundgren to pass to mount.

Conway is not content to let Lundgren control the position.

Lundgren is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Lundgren is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Conway is just riding it out for now. Lundgren eventually gives up the hold.

Conway is trying to control Lundgren's posture but Lundgren avoids it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mattias Lundgren will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Conway lunges at Lundgren with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lundgren's hand.

Lundgren closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Conway did well to prevent Lundgren getting side control.

Lundgren is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Conway doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lundgren.

Lundgren wants to control but Conway is keeping him busy.

Lundgren is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Conway defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lundgren missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Conway is looking to improve his position.
Lundgren is looking to take a break and control but Conway is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lundgren throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lundgren is looking to pass Conway's guard but actually Conway recovers to full guard.

Conway can't keep his opponent in guard - Lundgren advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Mattias Lundgren overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Conway trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Lundgren takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lundgren throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Conway because Lundgren loaded up on that one.

Conway defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lundgren.
We've been informed that Conway has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lundgren prevents Conway from getting the reversal.

Lundgren looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Lundgren swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Conway is now in Lundgren's guard. A big mistake from Lundgren there, giving up the dominant position!
Conway trying to control the position from guard on top but Lundgren is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lundgren wants to sweep here but Conway controlling him for the moment.

Mattias Lundgren showed his dominance in that final round.
