Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thibbledorf Pwent (ranked 3298 p4p, 5741 weight class) and Guido Carosella (ranked 349 p4p, 503 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thibbledorf Pwent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Guido Carosella! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carosella throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pwent swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Carosella keeps the fight on the outside. Carosella swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Pwent tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carosella sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pwent somewhat. Carosella throws a body punch but Pwent moves out of range. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Pwent moves into the clinch successfully.
Carosella is trying to pull guard but Pwent turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Carosella jumps guard but Pwent turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. A short uppercut from Pwent. Carosella tries to pull guard but Pwent forces him back to his feet, against the cage. We've been hearing reports that Pwent has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Thibbledorf Pwent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guido Carosella. Carosella tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carosella slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Pwent struggling a bit here.

Pwent slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Carosella prevents Pwent from improving his position. Pwent is working hard here to advance position. Carosella is pressing down on Pwent's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pwent is holding on for now. Carosella is thwarting Pwent's attempts to control the position. Carosella is keen to just control but Pwent is a slippery customer.

Carosella seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pwent has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Pwent is trying to land an Americana. Possibly, maybe, no Pwent has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Carosella is looking to reverse the position. Pwent is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carosella is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Carosella is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pwent's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Carosella actively working from the bottom here. Carosella gets full guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Thibbledorf Pwent will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Carosella connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pwent momentarily.

It looks like Guido Carosella has been cut. Carosella misses with a body shot.
Pwent rushes Carosella and presses him up against the cage. Carosella jumps guard and drags Pwent to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Pwent wants to control from the top but Carosella keeps moving. Carosella working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pwent doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pwent manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pwent engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Carosella is looking to cinch up a triangle. Pwent throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Carosella's body to avoid the submission. Carosella has instead reached around Pwent's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Carosella arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
