Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Genkei Takahashi (ranked 6359 p4p, 24220 weight class) and Surianglek Sitsongrit (ranked 570 p4p, 646 weight class). Surianglek Sitsongrit has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Genkei Takahashi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Genkei Takahashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Surianglek Sitsongrit!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takahashi looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takahashi is looking to work some ground and pound but Sitsongrit has wrist control.
Takahashi wants to control from the top but Sitsongrit keeps moving.
Takahashi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Takahashi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sitsongrit throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Takahashi passes Sitsongrit's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sitsongrit can do anything to dispel that myth.

Takahashi is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Takahashi seems to be working for a kimura but Sitsongrit defends the submission attempt.
Takahashi drops an elbow to the side of Sitsongrit's head.
Sitsongrit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takahashi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sitsongrit on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Takahashi is taking a breather. Sitsongrit says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Takahashi is looking to take a break and control but Sitsongrit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sitsongrit keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Sitsongrit throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sitsongrit keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Takahashi shoots in for a double leg but Sitsongrit sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Takahashi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Genkei Takahashi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Takahashi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sitsongrit circles away.
Sitsongrit throws a quick inside leg kick.
Genkei Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sitsongrit changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Sitsongrit ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takahashi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sitsongrit counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Takahashi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sitsongrit explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Takahashi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sitsongrit.
Takahashi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Takahashi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sitsongrit dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Takahashi. That did some damage!

Takahashi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sitsongrit tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Takahashi is in Sitsongrit's guard.

Takahashi wants to control from the top but Sitsongrit keeps moving.

Sitsongrit is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Takahashi is controlling him.
Sitsongrit lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sitsongrit postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Takahashi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Takahashi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Takahashi is trying to control the position but Sitsongrit postures up.

Takahashi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Takahashi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sitsongrit.
Takahashi appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Sitsongrit chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Sitsongrit fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Takahashi checks it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Takahashi shoots in but no luck this time.
Sitsongrit slaps away a takedown attempt from Takahashi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Takahashi.
Sitsongrit connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Sitsongrit scoring well with a low kick there.
Takahashi shoots in looking for a takedown but Sitsongrit manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Takahashi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Surianglek Sitsongrit is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Takahashi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sitsongrit counters with a stiff right hand.
Takahashi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Surianglek Sitsongrit showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Sitsongrit counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sitsongrit pushes Takahashi away with a front kick.
Sitsongrit lands the left hand.
Oh Takahashi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sitsongrit fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Takahashi out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Surianglek Sitsongrit!
Surianglek Sitsongrit bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
