Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juanito Escobar (ranked 6110 p4p, 24041 weight class) and Johnny Sins (ranked 615 p4p, 701 weight class). Juanito Escobar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Juanito Escobar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Sins!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escobar misses with a two punch combination.
Sins wants to counter with a clinch but Escobar pushes him away.
Sins will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Escobar appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Escobar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Escobar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Escobar swings around for an armbar but Sins sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Escobar's guard.
Escobar wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Escobar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sins looking to sit in guard and control but Escobar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Escobar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Escobar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Sins wants to clinch up but Escobar keeps it at a distance.
Escobar appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Sins stuffs the takedown.
Sins throws an overhand right that lands on Escobar's shoulder, as Escobar tries to avoid the shot.
Escobar appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Sins missing with a left hand there. Escobar was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Escobar catches Sins with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Escobar appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Johnny Sins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sins wants to counter with a clinch but Escobar pushes him away.

Escobar is trying to work for a kimura but Sins is defending well.

Escobar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Escobar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sins is just riding it out for now. Escobar eventually gives up the hold.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Escobar is trying to control. Sins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Escobar is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Escobar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Escobar is trying to control the action in half guard but Sins is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Juanito Escobar will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Sins uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Escobar has time to react.
Escobar misses with a takedown attempt - Sins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sins connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Escobar momentarily.
Sins lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Sins misses with a hook. Escobar ducked under it nicely.
Escobar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sins is fending him off so far but Escobar persists. Nope, Sins circles away and we're back to standing.

A head kick from Sins lands but Escobar takes it in his stride.

Escobar is trying to move to mount but Sins reverses beautifully and ends up in Escobar's guard.

Sins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Escobar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Johnny Sins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Escobar tries to bench press Sins off him but Sins keeps the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Escobar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Escobar is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sins's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Escobar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sins's back!

Escobar is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sins is defending well though. Escobar let's go of the attempt for now.
Sins felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Sins trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Johnny Sins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Escobar has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
