Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Demolition Smash (ranked 2523 p4p, 1824 weight class) and Ivan Kamenev (ranked 293 p4p, 211 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demolition Smash!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ivan Kamenev!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smash swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kamenev is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Smash with a body shot.
Kamenev loads up on a big right hand but Smash slips the punch.
Smash slips under a jab.
A little feinted left hand from Smash on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Kamenev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smash.
A big left from Smash misses.
Smash circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smash is looking to counter punch.
Smash blocks a jab.
Smash was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Smash keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kamenev connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kamenev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smash is looking to counter punch.
Smash waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kamenev.
Smash checks a leg kick.
Kamenev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smash manages to avoid it.
Smash uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kamenev.

Smash throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Smash throws a looping overhand right but Kamenev ducks down to avoid it.
Kamenev misses the shot to the body.
A clash of legs there as Kamenev blocks the low kick.
Kamenev darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Smash drops Kamenev with a beautiful combination! Kamenev stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smash is looking for the KO!

Kamenev is rocked!

It looks like Ivan Kamenev has been cut.
Kamenev ducks under a wild hook from Smash.
Kamenev is still on wobbly legs! Can Smash finish him?
Ivan Kamenev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smash looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Kamenev throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smash was covering up waiting for the punch and Kamenev finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kamenev seems to have recovered his senses.
Kamenev trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kamenev controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
My spies in Paris & Sons Training Yard inform me that Kamenev has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Kamenev wants to control from the top but Smash keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smash can't keep his opponent in guard - Kamenev advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Smash is refusing to be controlled, as Kamenev sits in half guard.
Kamenev wants to pass to mount but Smash is defending the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kamenev in particular looking to stall.

Kamenev is looking for a kimura here.

Kamenev seems to be looking for submissions.
Smash on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smash tries to get out of the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kamenev prevents Smash from improving his position.

Kamenev looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kamenev is controlling the pace.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Demolition Smash will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Ivan Kamenev's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kamenev lands a glancing blow to the side of Smash's head.
Kamenev looks for a takedown but Smash sprawls well.
Smash swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Kamenev closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smash to the mat! Smash manages to get full guard.
Kamenev trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Smash manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Smash trying to control the position from guard on top but Kamenev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kamenev wants to hit a sweep here but Smash passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kamenev there!

Kamenev is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
Kamenev keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Smash looking to control but Kamenev is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kamenev bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Smash looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Kamenev trying to control but Smash is working from the bottom.
Kamenev slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Smash stops Kamenev from passing to mount.
Smash is not content to let Kamenev control the position.

Kamenev tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Smash knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kamenev on the ground.

Kamenev trying to control the action but Smash is working from the bottom.
Kamenev working the ground and pound but Smash is defending the strikes.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kamenev tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kamenev jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Smash manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Kamenev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Smash's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Smash thows a left - swing and a miss!
A jab from Smash misses.
Smash throws a shot from downtown. Kamenev moves away and avoids it.
Kamenev misses with an uppercut. Smash saw that one coming.
A telegraphed right hand from Smash misses the target.
Kamenev checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Demolition Smash is winning the standup battle so far.
Kamenev tries to clinch there but Smash circles away.
Smash is looking for a counter combo.
Smash connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kamenev's hands.
Kamenev lands a jab to the head.
Kamenev waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smash.
A counter left hand to the body from Smash misses its target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kamenev throws a body punch but Smash moves out of range.
Kamenev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smash is fending him off so far but Kamenev persists. Nope, Smash circles away and we're back to standing.
Smash throws a big counter combination but Kamenev scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Smash throws a big shot that misses.
It seemed like Kamenev was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Kamenev scores with a takedown into Smash's guard.
Kamenev slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Let's hope that Kamenev has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Kamenev is pushing down on Smash's leg trying to pass to half guard. Smash is fighting to maintain full guard but Kamenev has managed to sneak the leg through.

Kamenev seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Smash is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ivan Kamenev!

Our winner, Ivan Kamenev, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
