Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mat Pis (ranked 3058 p4p, 24760 weight class) and Sami Rantanen (ranked 376 p4p, 665 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mat Pis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sami Rantanen!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Rantanen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pis was well out of range. Poor timing from Rantanen.
Mat Pis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rantanen thuds a left hand into Pis's body.
Some bone on bone action there as Rantanen checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Pis ducks right into an uppercut from Rantanen.
Pis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pis showed some decent athleticism there.
Rantanen tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Pis manages to move to mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rantanen can do anything to dispel that myth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pis landing punches.
Pis content just to control the position here.
Pis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pis working the ground and pound effectively.

Pis controlling his opponent.
Pis looking to ground and pound but Rantanen is blocking nicely.
Rantanen holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Pis tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rantanen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rantanen and Pis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Pis throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pis working the strikes but Rantanen uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Rantanen preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
We've been hearing that Pis has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Pis is trying to control. Rantanen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rantanen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pis connects with a nice short shot to Rantanen's temple.
Rantanen wants to control but Pis is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Pis is looking for a kimura but Rantanen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pis to get the leverage.
Rantanen is controlling Pis's trapped leg to prevent Pis from advancing to side control.
Rantanen is looking for a sweep. Pis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rantanen trying to control from the bottom.
Pis slips a nice elbow through Rantanen's hands, connecting with Rantanen's forehead.
Pis is nestled in close to Rantanen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Pis is trying to control the action in half guard but Rantanen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Pis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Rantanen is defending against the submission attempts here by Pis.
Pis is keen to just control but Rantanen is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pis throwing shots but Rantanen is blocking nicely.
Rantanen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rantanen is pressing down on Pis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Pis tries to free his leg and advance position but Rantanen is retaining full guard.
Pis throwing strikes from guard but Rantanen blocks nicely.
Pis preventing the sweep.
Pis wants to control from the top but Rantanen keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pis controlling from the top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Rantanen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mat Pis dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rantanen digs a good body shot into Pis's ribs.
Pis misses with a jab to the body
and Rantanen counters with a left to the body.
Pis misses with a body punch
and Rantanen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rantanen connects with a jab.
Rantanen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pis.
A nice side step and Rantanen releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Pis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rantanen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Pis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rantanen as he jumps to the side.
Pis swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Rantanen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nice body punch from Rantanen.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rantanen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pis misses with a takedown
and Rantanen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mat Pis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rantanen connects with a body shot that sends Pis's belly button to the back.
Rantanen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Pis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Pis on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A cross from Rantanen lands.
It looks like Mat Pis has been cut.
Pis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rantanen to score with a decent uppercut.
Pis is rocked!
Pis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Oh Pis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rantanen flashes Pis a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Pis's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Pis crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Rantanen punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
