Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Adams (ranked 1534 p4p, 1435 weight class) and Jian Zhao (ranked 177 p4p, 169 weight class). Zhao has chosen GZA - Shadowboxin' as his entrance music. Jian Zhao will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamal Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jian Zhao!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Zhao to the ground. Adams is now in Zhao's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Adams is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Zhao is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Zhao has escaped and now he's on top!
Adams looking for a guillotine here but Zhao defends easily.
Zhao slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Zhao is looking to take a break and control but Adams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Adams is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Zhao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Adams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Zhao is working away from the top position though.

A close round but Jian Zhao will probably get the nod.
That's time! Adams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Adams misses with a hook. Zhao ducked under it nicely.
Zhao throws a head kick that misses.
Adams swats away the attempt to clinch by Zhao.
Adams changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Adams shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zhao's guard.
Adams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Adams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Adams throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Zhao escapes and throws Adams's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Adams manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Adams makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Adams.
Adams has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Zhao doesn't defend quickly enough and Adams has managed to lock this one up! Can Zhao escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Adams on a fantastic submission victory.
