Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stanislav Saprykin (ranked 881 p4p, 2819 weight class) and Viktor Reznov (ranked 125 p4p, 370 weight class). The key to victory for Stanislav Saprykin has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stanislav Saprykin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Viktor Reznov! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saprykin lands a nice leg kick that just misses Reznov's sensitive parts. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Reznov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Saprykin looks to throw the jab but Reznov is out of range. Reznov darts in looking for a takedown but Saprykin gets double underhooks and turns Reznov into the cage. Reznov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Reznov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Saprykin throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Reznov shoots in looking for a takedown but Saprykin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reznov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Reznov drives through with a takedown into guard. Saprykin scrambles and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Saprykin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Saprykin displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Reznov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. A low kick lands for Saprykin.

That's one minute gone in the round. Saprykin connects with a solid leg kick. Reznov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saprykin sprawls well initially but Reznov persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Saprykin is defending against the submission attempts here by Reznov.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saprykin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Reznov is trying for a kimura here. Saprykin looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Reznov wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Viktor Reznov! Viktor Reznov took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, same day laundry for their support in the buildup to the fight.
