Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takeo Takeda (ranked 4426 p4p, 3001 weight class) and King Milleer Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 300 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Takeo Takeda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, King Milleer Gonzales! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good leg kick by Takeda. Takeda throws a nice inside leg kick. Takeda connects with a solid leg kick. Gonzales takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Takeo Takeda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A decent looking body kick lands there for Takeda. Gonzales swings widly with a right hand
and Takeda makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gonzales really felt that one! Gonzales shoots in looking for a takedown. Takeda tries to sprawl out of it but Gonzales keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Takeda manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Takeda throws a sloppy head kick and Gonzales moves out of range easily. A slapping leg kick lands for Takeda.
Takeda gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gonzales to score an easy takedown into full guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gonzales sitting in guard here, content to control. Gonzales prevents Takeda from getting back to his feet. Gonzales showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Takeda is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gonzales is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzales scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Gonzales distracts Takeda with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Takeda is wriggling around but Gonzales manages to pass to half guard.
Gonzales trying to control the pace. Takeda on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Takeda manages to escape and get back to his feet! Takeda fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gonzales. Gonzales has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gonzales has Takeda pressed against the cage, preventing Takeda from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Gonzales keeps control of Takeda as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Gonzales escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gonzales takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gonzales fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good leg kick by Takeda. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A solid leg kick lands there for Takeda.
Takeda pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Takeda defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gonzales. Takeo Takeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Milleer Gonzales. Gonzales fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Takeda lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Takeda with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Gonzales takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Takeda lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Takeda dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gonzales. That did some damage! Takeda lands with a nice body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Takeda tries to circle away but Gonzales has him pinned against the cage. Gonzales has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Takeda is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Takeda has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Gonzales keeps control of Takeda as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Takeda's face as he tries to break the clinch. Gonzales escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Good leg kick by Takeda. Takeda connects with a leg kick. Takeda tries a head kick but it misses.
Takeda lands a nice looking kick to the body. Gonzales takes a step back to recover. Gonzales throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Takeda. Takeda scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Takeo Takeda is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gonzales misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gonzales looks winded! Takeda throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Takeda keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takeda throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Takeda sets himself, and Gonzales steps forward looking for the clinch! Takeda avoids it this time. Takeda throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gonzales's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Gonzales steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Takeda. That one must have hurt. Nice body kick from Takeda. Gonzales drives through with a takedown into Takeda's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Takeda wants to stand up but Gonzales is controlling him. Gonzales chips away with some ground and pound. Gonzales gets to his feet. Takeda looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Takeo Takeda dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Takeda throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Takeda connects with a leg kick. Gonzales misses with a low kick as Takeda jumps back. Takeda lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Takeda lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gonzales's sensitive parts. Gonzales darts in looking for a takedown but Takeda gets double underhooks and turns Gonzales into the cage. A head kick by Takeda misses and Gonzales counters with a single leg into guard. Takeda didn't expect that. Gonzales slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gonzales cracks Takeda with a big elbow. Takeda is pushing Gonzales's head away, looking to escape. Gonzales manages to hold on to the position though. Gonzales remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Takeda wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Takeda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gonzales on the ground. Takeda is looking to get back to his feet here but Gonzales is keeping cool and he's managed to take Takeda's back. Takeda is taking damage to the body and head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takeda is trying to defend against the choke here but Gonzales has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Gonzales Tightens the hold and Takeda taps out furiously! Gonzales displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
