Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mantak Garuda (ranked 7 p4p, 35 weight class) and Just Whymer (ranked 2 p4p, 6 weight class). Garuda comes to the cage accompanied by Djiin Djiin. Just Whymer acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whymer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Whymer swings away with a body shot that misses

and Garuda counters with a head kick that drops Whymer to the mat! Whymer scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Whymer jabs Garuda to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Whymer looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Just Whymer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garuda lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Garuda looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Whymer tries to bum rush Garuda with a series of wild strikes but Garuda uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Garuda is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Whymer.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Whymer.

Garuda misses with a hook. Whymer ducked under it nicely.
Whymer feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Garudas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Garuda takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The fighters circling - Whymer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

A big right from Garuda misses.
A nice side step and Whymer releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Garuda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Whymer.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Whymer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Garuda avoids a punch combination nicely.
Whymer scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Garuda looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Garuda on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Garuda crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Whymer - the referee stops the clock and Garuda gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Whymer. Garuda manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Garuda's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Whymer lets loose with a powerful body kick. Garuda will feel that in the morning.

Whymer swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Just Whymer seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Garuda throws an overhand right that lands on Whymer's shoulder, as Whymer tries to avoid the shot.
Garuda uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Whymer.
Garuda takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A looping hook to the body misses from Garuda. Whymer does a little dance to reset his feet.
Whymer shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garuda misses with a hook. Whymer ducked under it nicely.

Garuda with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Whymer to score with a decent uppercut.

Mantak Garuda's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Garuda sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The fighters circle momentarily. Whymer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Garuda ducks right into an uppercut from Whymer.
Whymer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Whymer with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Garuda buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Garuda has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Whymer.
Whymer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Whymer throws a hook but Garuda blocks it.

Both fighters circling a little - Whymer finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Crunch! Whymer slams his shin into Garuda's torso.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Whymer connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Garuda! He's out on his feet! Whymer rushes in and drops Garuda with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
