Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Harry McQuirre (ranked 230 p4p, 158 weight class) and Akio Kurosaki (ranked 25 p4p, 16 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry McQuirre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Akio Kurosaki!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McQuirre closes the distance and clinches.
Kurosaki gets through McQuirre's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Kurosaki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kurosaki throws a lazy uppercut
and McQuirre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McQuirre will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McQuirre throws a nice outside leg kick.
McQuirre swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Kurosaki counter with a right hand.
Kurosaki misses with an uppercut.
Akio Kurosaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McQuirre fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kurosaki.
McQuirre thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kurosaki if he has to take too many more of those.
McQuirre throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kurosaki connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
McQuirre walks into a straight right hand from Kurosaki.

It looks like Harry McQuirre has been cut.
McQuirre lands with an overhand left.
Kurosaki throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kurosaki misses with a hook
and McQuirre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McQuirre looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kurosaki listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Kurosaki loads up on a big right hand but McQuirre slips the punch.
McQuirre misses with a wild body shot.
McQuirre throws a right hand that Kurosaki ducks under and follows up with a left that Kurosaki also avoids with ease.
Kurosaki lands with a thumping leg kick.
McQuirre scores with a body shot.
Kurosaki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

McQuirre throws a head kick that misses
and Kurosaki counters with a two punch combo.
McQuirre takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The fighters circling - Kurosaki throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
McQuirre throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A big right from Kurosaki misses.
Kurosaki throws a looping overhand right but McQuirre ducks down to avoid it.
Kurosaki throws a jab but it's blocked by McQuirre.
A bone on bone clash there as McQuirre blocks the leg kick.
McQuirre staying out of range there.

Kurosaki fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Kurosaki's jab looks to have found its range, popping McQuirre under the eye.
Kurosaki blocks a head kick by McQuirre.
McQuirre darts in trying to clinch
and Kurosaki counters with a lovely shot to the body.

McQuirre instigates a clinch.
McQuirre prevents a body shot from Kurosaki.
Kurosaki scores with a nice hook to the head.
Kurosaki blocks an elbow strike.
Kurosaki lands a hook to the side of the head.

Kurosaki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kurosaki is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McQuirre had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
McQuirre tries a head kick but it misses.
McQuirre on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
McQuirre jabs at Kurosaki's body.

Kurosaki cracks McQuirre with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Kurosaki has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning McQuirre to stand back up!

McQuirre is rocked!
McQuirre tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Oh McQuirre is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McQuirre misses with a straight right.
McQuirre misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kurosaki.
McQuirre leaves his chin hanging out and Kurosaki seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! McQuirre crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Akio Kurosaki!
Akio Kurosaki bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
