Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Justin Newman (ranked 4301 p4p, 4382 weight class) and Richard Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 511 weight class). Brooks has chosen The Script - Hall of Fame as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Justin Newman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richard Brooks! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks scores with a takedown into Newman's guard. Newman wants to get back to his feet but Brooks passes into half guard.
Brooks not landing any meaningful shots this time. Newman tries to get to full guard but Brooks has control of the leg. Newman has hold of Brooks's hands but Brooks slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Brooks landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brooks is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Brooks looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Brooks prevents Newman from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Newman trying to control here.
Brooks lands strikes from half guard. Brooks slips a nice elbow through Newman's hands, connecting with Newman's forehead. Brooks lands with a punch from half guard. Brooks stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Brooks decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Newman tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Brooks manages to move to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooks has hold of Newman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Newman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brooks pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Brooks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Brooks lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Newman tries to hold on but Brooks pushes him away. Brooks is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Newman can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Brooks throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Newman has his hands clasped together but Brooks breaks the hold and Newman is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Brooks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Richard Brooks!
