With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Alice Wonderland! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riverson shoots in looking for a takedown. Wonderland tries to sprawl out of it but Riverson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wonderland manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Riverson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wonderland was covering up waiting for the punch and Riverson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Riverson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Riverson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Riverson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Riverson won't allow Wonderland to get back to his feet. Wonderland really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riverson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riverson drops back for a leg! Wonderland manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riverson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wonderland looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wonderland looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wonderland! Riverson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Riverson actively working from the bottom here. Riverson manages to get to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Riverson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Wonderland throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Riverson's body to avoid the submission. Riverson has instead reached around Wonderland's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Riverson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
