Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pat Kelly (ranked 3193 p4p, 2007 weight class) and Cameron Bye (ranked 388 p4p, 258 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pat Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cameron Bye!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bye feints and then cracks Kelly's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kelly down.
Bye scores with a jab to the body.
Kelly takes a swing at Bye's ribcage but misses.
Bye let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Kelly misses with an uppercut
and Bye counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Pat Kelly has been cut.
Kelly throws a right and a left that Bye avoids nicely.
Kelly takes a swing at Bye's ribcage but misses.
Kelly tries to clinch but Bye is having none of it.
Kelly looks to land a combination but Bye avoids it well.
Bye steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kelly.

Bye fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kelly looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kelly tries to work over Bye's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Kelly misses with a body punch.
Bye tries to circle away but Kelly has him pinned against the cage.

Bye breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kelly slips under a jab from Bye.
Kelly throws an overhand right that lands on Bye's shoulder, as Bye tries to avoid the shot.
Bye slips a straight right by Kelly.
Kelly has been working on his boxing with his coaches at 3Band MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Kelly throws a jab when Bye was well out of range.
Kelly lands a lovely overhand right.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bye throws a hook to the side of Kelly's head but Kelly sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

As Kelly backs off Bye throws a huge counter combo but Kelly manages to avoid it all.

Bye avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bye tries to move into range but Kelly moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Pat Kelly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kelly. Bye does a little dance to reset his feet.

Kelly is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Despite the aggression on Bye's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

That was a close round but I would say that Pat Kelly will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bye forces Kelly back against the cage and clinches.
Bye blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Bye breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kelly is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bye.
Bye looks to score with a jab to the body but Kelly is just out of range.
Bye ducks under a wild hook from Kelly.
Bye keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kelly.
Bye throws out a counter right but Kelly avoids it with no problem.
Bye throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kelly.
Kelly throws an overhand right that lands on Bye's shoulder, as Bye tries to avoid the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bye lands a left and a right that send Kelly crashing to the mat, dazed. Bye thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Bye jabbing away but nothing is landing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bye as Kelly tries to tie him up.
Bye jumps guard but Kelly turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Kelly is trying to maintain a safe position but Bye gets an underhook and turns Kelly into the cage.

Kelly is pushing Bye up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
