Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between J Gay G (ranked 2542 p4p, 6790 weight class) and Winston Cooper (ranked 254 p4p, 442 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gay G might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Down. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing reports that Gay G has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cooper enables Gay G to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cooper manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Gay G looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cooper with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gay G seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cooper for as long as he can get away with.
