Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lee Johnson (ranked 24759 p4p, 23919 weight class) and Sho Pereyra (ranked 469 p4p, 455 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sho Pereyra! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pereyra. Johnson shoots and misses and Pereyra counters with a leg kick. Pereyra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pereyra is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Pereyra defending well as Johnson loads up on a big left hand. Pereyra slips under a jab. Johnson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pereyra moves into the clinch. Johnson has had enough of the clinch but Pereyra keeps him there for the moment. Pereyra pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nice defenses there by Pereyra. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt and Pereyra counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pereyra punishes Johnson's body with a nice straight punch. Pereyra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pereyra wants it to stay on the feet. Pereyra bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pereyra tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well. Johnson tries to escape but Pereyra is in control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pereyra controlling from side mount. Johnson tries to escape but Pereyra is in control. Pereyra content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Pereyra thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pereyra scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Johnson to see if he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pereyra asserts his dominance and retains side control. Pereyra is staying tight to Johnson's torso, preventing him from escaping. Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Pereyra drags him back down. Pereyra connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Johnson some visible discomfort.
Johnson is trying to buck Pereyra off. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson is letting Pereyra control him for a moment. Johnson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Pereyra has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Johnson! You get the feeling that Johnson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pereyra controlling from the full mount. Johnson squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Pereyra has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Johnson is forced to tap!
