Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Schalk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicola Kalub! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schalk tries to close the distance and clinch but Kalub swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kalub throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Schalk. Schalk looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Schalk just misses with a punch to the body.
A punch combination from Schalk misses. Schalk could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Schalk misses the jab. Schalk misses with a hook. Schalk blocks a head kick by Kalub.
Schalk throws a big shot that misses. Kalub moves out of range of the strikes. Kalub lands with a kick to the ribs.
Kalub forces Schalk back against the cage and clinches. Kalub tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kalub throws a knee to the head but misses.
Schalk wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kalub has him pressed against the cage. Kalub gets a trip takedown into half guard. Kalub prevents Schalk from improving his position. Kalub is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kalub looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kalub connects with a nice short shot to Schalk's temple. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kalub prevents Schalk from standing back up.
Kalub looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kalub scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kalub stops Schalk from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kalub has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Schalk defend it? Kalub steps over the head and cranks it - Schalk is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Kalub!
