Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Military Industrial Complex (ranked 1073 p4p, 2577 weight class) and Rodney Smith (ranked 134 p4p, 273 weight class). Complex comes to the cage accompanied by Rusty Cage - Johnny Cash. The crowd seem to be enjoying Smith's choice of entrance music: HighWay to Hell. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodney Smith!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Complex.
Complex avoids the head kick by Smith.
Complex chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Complex fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Smith checks it well.
Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Complex with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Smith to score with a decent uppercut.
Complex has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Smith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Complex lands with a good body shot.
Smith tests Complex's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A punch lands to the side of Smith 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Complex fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Smith has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Smith checks the leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith misses with a head kick.
A little feinted left hand from Complex on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Complex manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Smith moves into range and connects with a jab.
Complex throws the kick towards the body but Smith avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Complex throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Complex throws out a leg kick but Smith moves out of range and Complex only half commits.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Smith! But no joy.
Complex tries a low kick but Smith avoids it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Complex darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Smith gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Smith is rocked!
Complex scoring well with a low kick there.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Complex finish him?
Complex throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.
Complex avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Complex tried to counter with a leg kick but Smith avoided it.
Complex uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.
Smith throws an off balance right hand
and Complex counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smith throws a head kick that misses
and Complex counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Complex lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith's hand.
Rodney Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith misses with a hook. Complex ducked under it nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Complex, as that shot connected.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Complex lands with a thumping leg kick.
Smith gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Complex gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Smith is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Our winner, Military Industrial Complex, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Rodney Smith was interviewed post fight and said 'I would like a rematch. I messed up the flight times getting here and I think that played a factor in my performance.'.
