Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Simon (ranked 109 p4p, 210 weight class) and Harvey Stallion (ranked 15 p4p, 28 weight class). Stallion comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Riding on the horses by Daryl Braithwaite kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Simon! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harvey Stallion! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simon takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Stallion lands a nice looking body shot.
Simon walks into a stiff left hand from Stallion. Stallion fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simon, pushing him back against the cage. Stallion lands a body punch. Simon is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Simon fails to pull the fight into his guard.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Simon. Simon lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Stallion misses with a body punch.
Stallion lands a nice shot to the body. Stallion has a couple of punches blocked by Simon.
A hook to the body from Stallion.
Stallion misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Stallion. This has been an exciting period of action! Simon swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Stallion lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Simon backwards. Simon prevents a body shot from Stallion. A short uppercut from Simon. Simon misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simon tries to pull guard but Stallion holds him up against the cage and eventually Simon drops back down to his feet.
Stallion misses with a short punch on the inside. Simon misses with the head strike.
A head punch on the inside from Simon fails to land. Simon blocks a body shot from Stallion. Simon has clasped his hands together around Stallion's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Stallion tries to buck Simon off but Simon is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Simon laying and praying for a moment but Stallion takes advantage and regains half guard. Simon tries to pass to full mount but Stallion defends it. Simon is looking to take a break and control but Stallion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Stallion preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stallion works his way to full guard. Good work. Simon trying to control but Stallion is working from the bottom. Simon postures up.
Simon pushing down on Stallion's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Simon moves into full mount! Stallion won't be happy about that! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stallion keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stallion is squirming around, avoiding Simon's attempts to control the action. Stallion sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Stallion is looking to control Simon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stallion avoid being mounted? Simon trying to mount his opponent but Stallion defends it. Simon sitting and controlling from the half guard. Stallion has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Stallion tries to roll over but Simon keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Simon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stallion has managed to free his arm - good work. Stallion trying to get back to full guard but Simon takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Simon trying to control but Stallion is having none of it. Stallion tries to hold on but Simon pushes him away. Stallion is trying to reverse the position but instead Simon has taken his back - oops! Simon is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Stallion defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jay Simon will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Stallion connects with a crisp jab. Simon closes the distance and pushes Stallion back into the cage. Simon has clasped his hands together around Stallion's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Stallion is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Simon's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Jay Simon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Simon tries to pass to full mount but Stallion defends it. Simon is working hard here to advance position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simon prevents Stallion from improving his position. Simon trying to pass the guard but Stallion defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Stallion has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Simon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Simon won't allow Stallion to sweep him here. Stallion had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Simon defends it easily. Simon trying to control but Stallion is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Simon shoots and misses and Stallion counters with a right hand to the body. Stallion is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Simon. Stallion closes the distance and clinches. Stallion lands a body shot. Stallion lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Simon pulls guard. Simon keeping moving, preventing Stallion from controlling successfully. Simon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Stallion loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Stallion trying to control the position from guard on top but Simon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stallion working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stallion trying to control the position from guard on top but Simon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stallion controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Stallion is continuing to stall. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Stallion is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Simon has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Stallion is looking to defend but Simon has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Stallion! Simon pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Stallion taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jay Simon! Jay Simon retains his lightweight title! A relieved looking Jay Simon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
