Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Billy Sampson (ranked 4337 p4p, 5876 weight class) and Rafael Bangsil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rafael Bangsil has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafael Bangsil!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson leaves Bangsil with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bangsil really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sampson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Sampson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bangsil fails with a takedown attempt.
Sampson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sampson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bangsil after a bit of a struggle.

Bangsil has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sampson uses from the top position.

Sampson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bangsil is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sampson.

Bangsil decides to stand back up. Bangsil steps back and let's Sampson get back to his feet.

Sampson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Billy Sampson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Well Bangsil has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
