The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A little feinted left hand from Tessier on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Tessier misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tessier takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
James has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Tessier avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
James throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tessier on the side of the head.

and Tessier takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tessier throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

James lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

James stuns Tessier with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
James looks to land a right hand but Tessier moved out of range.

James throws a hook to the side of Tessier's head but Tessier sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tessier lands with a hook. James tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
James connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tessier's hands.
James cracks Tessier with a good jab.
Tessier is looking to chop away at James's legs.
Tessier uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from James.

Tessier swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
James throws a nice outside leg kick.
James might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Tessier throws a right hand that James ducks under and follows up with a left that James also avoids with ease.

Tessier shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with James but James pushes him off and we're back to square one.

James is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tessier.

James is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Tessier had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

James stalks Tessier and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tessier's face. Tessier staggers backwards, shaken.

Oh Tessier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tessier throws a leg kick
and James counters with a huge left! Tessier is in big trouble! He's backing up but James isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Tessier from any more damage. A dominating finish by James!

After winning the bout, Liam James thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
