Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mitch McGee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Klay Mcquarrie ! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcquarrie keeps the fight on the outside. McGee fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mcquarrie on the side of the head. McGee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mcquarrie takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
McGee looks for a takedown but Mcquarrie sprawls well. Mcquarrie gets a clinch. McGee looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. McGee is defending well against a takedown attempt. McGee tries to pull guard but Mcquarrie won't allow it.
McGee wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McGee walks away with a smile on his face. Mcquarrie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mcquarrie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGee avoids it really well and circles away. McGee shoots and misses and Mcquarrie counters by clinching up. Mcquarrie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Mcquarrie gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. McGee has been working on his balance at Cozad MMA New York, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Mcquarrie . McGee misses with a takedown and Mcquarrie counters with a right hand to the body.

Mcquarrie swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. McGee fails with the takedown. Mcquarrie throws a quick head kick that skims the top of McGee's head. Mcquarrie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mcquarrie controlling the position. Mcquarrie is continuing to stall. McGee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. McGee wanted to stand there but Mcquarrie had control of the position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mcquarrie is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Klay Mcquarrie dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Mcquarrie misses with a takedown and McGee cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mcquarrie with the inside leg kick. Mcquarrie misses with a takedown attempt and McGee counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. McGee misses the shot to the body. McGee wants to clinch. McGee throws a body punch but Mcquarrie moves out of range. Mitch McGee is winning the standup battle so far. McGee slaps away a takedown attempt from Mcquarrie , before circling back to the center of the mat. Mitch McGee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. McGee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mcquarrie 's guard. Mcquarrie tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mcquarrie is breathing heavily. Mcquarrie trying to keep a closed guard but McGee is proving a slippery customer.
McGee pushes down on Mcquarrie 's leg and manages to get into half guard. McGee seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. McGee wants to control but Mcquarrie is keeping him busy. Mcquarrie is trying to stand up here but McGee is controlling him well. McGee tries to stand but can't do so whilst Mcquarrie controls his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGee decides to stand and escape the position. McGee fails with a takedown attempt. Mcquarrie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As McGee backs off Mcquarrie throws a huge counter combo but McGee manages to avoid it all. Nice takedown defense from Mcquarrie . No joy for McGee on that attempt. McGee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Despite the aggression on Mcquarrie 's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. McGee bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mcquarrie explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McGee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mcquarrie paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mcquarrie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. McGee tries for a takedown but Mcquarrie circles away easily and Mcquarrie counters with a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGee shoots in for a takedown but Mcquarrie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Mcquarrie leaves McGee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Mcquarrie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McGee as he avoids it easily. McGee swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Nice sprawl there from Mcquarrie as McGee shoots in. McGee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mcquarrie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McGee somewhat. Mcquarrie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McGee tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mcquarrie is in McGee's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcquarrie content to stall in guard here. Mcquarrie wants to control from the top but McGee keeps moving. Mcquarrie drops back looking for a leg! McGee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McGee manages to kick Mcquarrie off! Mcquarrie jumps back into McGee's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGee tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Klay Mcquarrie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! McGee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! Mcquarrie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. McGee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mcquarrie swats him away and circles back towards the center. A telegraphed takedown attempt from McGee is defended easily by Mcquarrie . McGee tries to clinch there but Mcquarrie circles away.
Mcquarrie lands with an overhand left. McGee misses with a takedown attempt and Mcquarrie counters with a right hand to the body. That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcquarrie takes a swing at McGee's ribcage but misses. McGee lands a jab to Mcquarrie 's midsection. McGee feints and as Mcquarrie raises his hands in defense, McGee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcquarrie is looking to stand back up but McGee counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mcquarrie .
McGee is looking for a kimura but Mcquarrie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McGee to get the leverage. McGee lands strikes from half guard. Mcquarrie is staying active underneath McGee, who seems content to just control the action from this position. McGee stands up out of the half guard. McGee instigates a clinch. Mcquarrie looking to throw knees to the head but McGee is blocking nicely.
McGee tries a body shot but Mcquarrie blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcquarrie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mcquarrie looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mcquarrie stuffs the takedown. McGee wants to clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! No luck with that takedown attempt from McGee. McGee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mcquarrie , pushing him back against the cage. McGee tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mcquarrie smiles and moves away.
Mitch McGee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Klay Mcquarrie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mcquarrie shoots in but no luck this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Klay Mcquarrie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mcquarrie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
