Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Peterson (ranked 1188 p4p, 1377 weight class) and Blue Cup (ranked 167 p4p, 196 weight class). Dylan Peterson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blue Cup! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cup lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Peterson circles away quickly and effectively. The fight stays on the outside here - Cup looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Peterson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cup manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cup pushes Peterson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A telegraphed right hand from Cup misses the target. Peterson throwing a counter right hand but Cup manages to avoid it. Peterson dodges the punch combination from Cup.
Peterson walks into a left hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peterson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Peterson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Cup misses with a jab, cross combination.
Peterson throws a big counter combination but Cup scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Peterson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cup is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Peterson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cup is refusing to be controlled, as Peterson sits in half guard. Peterson misses with a head shot. Cup uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Peterson with a flurry of punches that miss. Peterson throws an elbow that misses. Cup uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Peterson's guard. Nice move by Cup! Peterson wants to sweep here but Cup controlling him for the moment. Cup tries to free his leg and advance position but Peterson is retaining full guard. Peterson looking for a sweep. Not yet Peterson, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cup postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cup postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Peterson keeping moving, preventing Cup from controlling successfully. Cup slips nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cup is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Peterson tries to roll over but Cup keeps him under control. Cup is looking for a kimura here.
Peterson wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson is refusing to be controlled, as Cup sits in half guard. Peterson wants to improve his position but Cup is controlling well.
Peterson is working hard here to advance position. Peterson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Peterson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cup's guard. Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Cup is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Peterson throwing strikes from guard but Cup blocks nicely. Cup told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Peterson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peterson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Peterson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Peterson preventing the sweep. Cup is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Cup is trying to control. Peterson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Peterson tries to get to full guard but Cup has control of the leg. Cup is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Peterson sees it coming and defends easily. Peterson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Cup prevents Peterson from improving his position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Blue Cup will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Cup works over Peterson's head and body with a nice combination. Cup throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Peterson stuffs the takedown attempt from Cup. Cup gets slowly back to his feet. Peterson gets the takedown into side control. Peterson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Peterson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Cup to see if he's OK. Peterson throws an elbow but Cup slips to the side and avoids it well. Cup is looking for a sweep. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Peterson lands some shots froms side control.
It looks like Blue Cup has been cut. Peterson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. We've been hearing that Peterson has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Peterson misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Both fighters take a look at the clock.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson tries to score with some ground and pound. Cup controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Cup pushes Peterson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Peterson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Cup managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Peterson.
Peterson with the ground and pound but Cup regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Peterson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cup with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Cup is staying active underneath Peterson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Peterson scoring with strikes to the body and head. Cup on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Cup is rocked! Cup is trying to stand up here but Peterson is controlling him well. Cup is still in real trouble! Can Peterson finish him? Peterson lands a big elbow - Cup is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Peterson!

He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. Blue Cup was interviewed post fight and said 'That wasn't fun.'.
