Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rigor Mortis! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mortis lands with a kick to the temple. Mason shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Mortis looks for a takedown but Mason sprawls well. Mortis has closed the distance and engaged Mason in a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage. Mortis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mason avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Mason lands an elbow just above Mortis 's eye. Mason misses with a knee to the head. Mason unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mortis lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Mortis looks gassed! This has been an exciting period of action! Mason with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Mason tries to land a knee to the head but Mortis blocks with his arms.
Mason creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mortis's defenses. Mason landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Mason comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Mason lands an elbow that stopped Mortis in his tracks for a moment. Mason using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mason creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mortis's defenses. Mason using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mortis has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Mason lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Nice elbow from Mason. Mason crunches a lovely knee into Mortis's ribcage. Mason lands an elbow just above Mortis 's eye. Mason tries to land a knee to the head but Mortis blocks with his arms.

Mortis takes an elbow to the forehead. Mason lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Mason tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Mortis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mason gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jay Mason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rigor Mortis. Mortis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mason walks away with a smile on his face. Mortis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jay Mason is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mason looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mortis throws a sloppy head kick and Mason moves out of range easily. Mason tries a head kick but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mason tries to clinch up and Mortis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mortis. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mason looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mortis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mortis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mason's head. Mortis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Mason to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mortis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Mason pulls down on the head and he's put Mortis to sleep! This one is all over!
