Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Robinson (ranked 4401 p4p, 6477 weight class) and Friendly Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Friendly Monkey has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jose Robinson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Robinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Friendly Monkey! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monkey throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Monkey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Robinson sprawls well initially but Monkey persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Robinson tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Monkey manages to move to mount!
Monkey controlling his opponent. Robinson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Robinson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Monkey on the ground. Monkey breaks from Robinson's wrist control and lands an elbow. Monkey trying to control but he's not successful this time. Monkey lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Robinson taking shots to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Robinson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Monkey cracks Robinson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Robinson tries to get out of the position. Robinson really wants to buck Monkey off and get back to his feet. Monkey is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Robinson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Monkey controlling the position easily from mount. Monkey's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Robinson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Monkey tries to control but Robinson wriggling away. Monkey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Monkey is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Robinson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Monkey wants to control the pace but Robinson is squirming around nicely. Monkey looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Monkey cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Robinson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Monkey looking to control but Robinson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Robinson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Monkey. Monkey trying to control but he's not successful this time. Robinson wants to try and get back to his feet. Robinson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Monkey is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Robinson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
You get the feeling that Robinson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Monkey lands a heavy elbow. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Friendly Monkey dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Monkey closes the distance and clinches up with Robinson, looking for a takedown. Monkey pushes Robinson against the cage but Robinson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Robinson throws a series of punches but Monkey moves out of range. Monkey goes for a double leg but Robinson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Robinson continues to drive forward. Robinson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Monkey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jose Robinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Friendly Monkey. Robinson lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Monkey sprawling to the canvas. Robinson follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Monkey hang on?
Monkey is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Robinson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Monkey controls his leg. Monkey is looking to escape. Robinson tries to stand and escape but Monkey is controlling the position. Monkey is trying to control but can't.
Monkey is breathing heavily. Robinson wants to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Robinson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Monkey is still on wobbly legs! Can Robinson finish him? Robinson plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Monkey to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Monkey just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jose Robinson!
