Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Knutur Berg (ranked 4396 p4p, 2347 weight class) and Jayson Darnell (ranked 500 p4p, 296 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Knutur Berg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jayson Darnell!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darnell doesn't manage to clinch there - Berg circles away.
Berg lands a jab-cross combination.
Darnell walks into a straight right hand from Berg.
Darnell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Berg swivels and escapes.
Berg swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Berg shoots in looking for a takedown. Darnell tries to sprawl out of it but Berg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Darnell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Knutur Berg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice jab there from Berg.
Berg thuds a left hand into Darnell's body.
Berg displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Darnell shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Berg manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Berg has momentary wrist control but Darnell slips an elbow through the middle.
Berg is trying to keep Darnell in close.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Darnell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Darnell wants to pass the guard but Berg is keeping the position.
Berg striking off his back but it's not causing Darnell any problems.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Darnell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A left and a right from Berg both land. Nice combination.
Darnell takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Berg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Darnell, pushing him back against the cage.

Berg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Berg throws a series of strikes that have Darnell backpedaling.

Darnell is rocked!
Berg lands a jab-cross combination.
Darnell is still on wobbly legs! Can Berg finish him?
Berg throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Darnell's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Berg dives in looking to finish as Darnell flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Berg's strikes! Berg is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Darnell's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Darnell was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Knutur Berg!
