Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between John Johnston (ranked 6941 p4p, 6954 weight class) and Jean Yves Theriault (ranked 262 p4p, 263 weight class). Theriault has chosen Klendathu drop as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Yves Theriault!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnston lands with a thumping leg kick.
Theriault throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnston.
Johnston lands the left hand.
Theriault throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Johnston checks a low kick from Theriault.
Theriault throws out a powerful jab.
Theriault thumps Johnston with a low kick.
Johnston has been working on his boxing with his coaches at House of 1000 Corpses in the buildup to the fight.
Theriault throws a looping overhand right but Johnston ducks down to avoid it.
A nice leg kick from Johnston, right into the meat of the thigh.
Theriault misses with a hook. Johnston ducked under it nicely.
Johnston bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Johnston scores with a head kick. Theriault tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
We've been informed that Theriault has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Theriault catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Johnston stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Johnston walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!

Theriault lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Theriault pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Johnston walks into a big right hand from Theriault and goes down! The referee sends Theriault to a neutral corner as Johnston gets back to his feet. He looks OK so we're back under way.
Theriault throws a hook but Johnston avoids it easily.

Theriault connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Johnston ducks into a a hook from Theriault and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!
Oh Johnston is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnston throws a body punch but Theriault moves out of range.
Theriault attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Johnston seems to have got his legs back now.
Johnston avoids a kick to the body.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Johnston. Theriault shrugs it off though.
Theriault throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Theriault lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Johnston with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Theriault to score with a decent uppercut.
Theriault throws a hook but Johnston blocks it.
Johnston checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Theriault scores with a body shot.
Theriault lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Johnston goes down! The ref sends Theriault to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Johnston is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!
Theriault walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Theriault looks to throw the jab but Johnston is out of range.
Johnston throws a quick counter kick to the body but Theriault avoids it.
Theriault tries to bum rush Johnston with a series of wild strikes but Johnston uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Johnston misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Theriault lets loose with a powerful body kick. Johnston will feel that in the morning.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Yves Theriault will get the nod in that round, having scored multiple knockdowns.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

John Johnston has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Theriault throws a quick inside leg kick.
Theriault throws a lazy right hand but Johnston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Johnston quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Johnston throws a head kick that misses.
Theriault throws a jab when Johnston was well out of range.
Johnston half committed to a counter leg kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Johnston blocks the leg kick.
Theriault lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Theriault lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Theriault scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Theriault scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Johnston to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Theriault away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Johnston got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Theriault engages and cracks Johnston with a massive lead left hook - Johnston tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Theriault is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
