PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jock Strap (ranked 2025 p4p, 2145 weight class) and Frankie Lamas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strap has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jock Strap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankie Lamas!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strap misses with a few strikes there.
Lamas throws a solid leg kick but Strap takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lamas.
Strap throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lamas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Strap manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lamas moves out of range as Strap strikes.
As Strap backs off Lamas throws a huge counter combo but Strap manages to avoid it all.
A big right from Lamas misses.
Lamas swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Strap counter with a right hand.
Lamas wants to clinch up but Strap keeps it at a distance.
Lamas throws a one two combo.
Lamas misses with a head kick.
Lamas throws a nice looking combination but Strap bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Strap swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Strap misses with an uppercut. Lamas saw that one coming.
Lamas throws out a counter right but Strap avoids it with no problem.
Lamas moves into range and connects with a jab.
A jab from Strap misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lamas scores with a body shot.
Strap is breathing heavily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Strap. Lamas does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lamas throws a right and a left that Strap avoids nicely.

Lamas forces Strap back against the cage and clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Strap lands a left hand.
Strap working aggressively here.

Strap breaks the clinch.

A head kick lands from Lamas that sends Strap to the canvas. Strap tries to scramble back to his feet but Lamas brings him back down into side control.

Strap is rocked!

It looks like Jock Strap has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lamas controls the position.
Oh Strap is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lamas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Strap to his feet.
Strap seems to have got his legs back now.
We've been hearing reports that Strap has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lamas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lamas misses with a low kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Strap misses the target.
Lamas with the counter takedown but Strap avoids it easily.
Lamas is looking to clinch.
Strap circles away from the clinch attempt.

Lamas clinches up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lamas takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Lamas is trying to stall.

A quick step to the side and Strap tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lamas checks a leg kick.
Lamas dodges the punch combination from Strap.
Lamas keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Lamas clinches.
Strap jumps guard but Lamas stands there with Strap around his waist. Strap gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Lamas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lamas throws an overhand right that lands on Strap's shoulder, as Strap tries to avoid the shot.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Lamas! Strap is out on his feet! Lamas rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Strap is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Strap is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
