Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dempsey O�Neill (ranked 2669 p4p, 2853 weight class) and Riyu Mendes (ranked 349 p4p, 369 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dempsey O�Neill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Riyu Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O�Neill swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
O�Neill has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Andy's Sweaty Men Junior in the buildup to the fight.
O�Neill lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mendes will feel that in the morning.
Mendes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
O�Neill scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mendes in his tracks.
Mendes throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Dempsey O�Neill has been cut.
Mendes throws an overhand right that lands on O�Neill's shoulder, as O�Neill tries to avoid the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A clash of legs there as O�Neill blocks the low kick.
O�Neill moves into the clinch.
O�Neill misses with a punch on the inside.
Mendes fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round.
O�Neill misses with some punches.
Mendes manages to break the clinch.
O�Neill ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
O�Neill quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
O�Neill clinches up against the cage.
O�Neill tries a body shot but Mendes blocks it.
O�Neill digs a right hand underneath Mendes's ribcage. Mendes let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Mendes jumps guard but O�Neill stands there with Mendes around his waist. Mendes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
O�Neill presses Mendes against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
O�Neill lands with a light punch inside.
Mendes will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning O�Neill up against the cage.
O�Neill blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
O�Neill lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
O�Neill lands a right hand.
O�Neill lands with a left to the head.
O�Neill working some nice short punches in the clinch.
O�Neill pushes Mendes back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mendes has O�Neill pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. O�Neill manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

O�Neill works on Mendes's body with a couple of short punches.
O�Neill lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Mendes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. O�Neill smiles and moves away.
Dempsey O�Neill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Riyu Mendes.
O�Neill cracks Mendes with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Mendes tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but O�Neill pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Mendes is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dempsey O�Neill!
An out of breath Dempsey O�Neill thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
