Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bean (ranked 5657 p4p, 4770 weight class) and Gary Lava (ranked 229 p4p, 211 weight class). Gary Lava struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Bobby Bean has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Bean! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Lava! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lava fails with a takedown attempt. Lava looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Jab, jab by Bean - just one landing.
It looks like Gary Lava has been cut. Lava with a lazy takedown attempt and Bean counters by moving into the clinch. Bean cracks Lava with a nice body shot. Bean wants the takedown. Lava is fighting it off but Bean persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lava's guard against the cage. Bean sitting in guard here, content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bean decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Bean thuds his shin into the meat of Lava's side. Bean looking to score a takedown here. Lava is defending well but Bean drives through and ends up in Lava's guard. Bean drops back looking for a leg! Lava is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lava manages to kick Bean off! Bean jumps back into Lava's guard. Lava can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bean controls the pace. We've been hearing good reports from Bean's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bean has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Bean stands and steps away. Lava gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bean takes the fight into the clinch. Bean pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bean lands a body shot.
Bean scores with a takedown into Lava's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bean sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lava's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bean controlling the action here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lava can do anything to dispel that myth. Bean is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lava sees it coming and defends easily. Bean scoring with strikes to the body and head. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lava is trying to get back to full guard. Bean is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lava!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bean looking to control and managing it successfully. Bean with the ground and pound from mount. Bean looking to control and managing it successfully. Bean get's back to his feet. Bean pushes Lava up against the cage in a clinch. Bean tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bean is defended easily by Lava. Bean pushes Lava up against the cage in a clinch. Lava is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Bean manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Lava trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bean is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bean pushes a forearm under Lava's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Lava is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bobby Bean! A less than humble Bobby Bean misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
