Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darrion McKee (ranked 2690 p4p, 4866 weight class) and Martins Voranovskis (ranked 305 p4p, 485 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darrion McKee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Martins Voranovskis!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKee goes for a double leg but Voranovskis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Voranovskis continues to drive forward.
Voranovskis using the Thai plumb to throw knees but McKee has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Voranovskis pulls guard.
McKee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McKee passes Voranovskis's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Voranovskis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McKee looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
McKee is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Voranovskis trying to control but McKee postures up.

McKee looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Voranovskis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McKee is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McKee keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McKee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
McKee slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

McKee wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Voranovskis, who protects the arm well.

McKee is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Voranovskis has escaped the position, nice work there.
McKee is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Voranovskis looking for a sweep but McKee has passed into full mount! Oh no!
McKee controlling the pace for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Voranovskis gets back to half guard.
McKee not doing much here.
Voranovskis is trying to maintain the position but McKee is very close to passing his half guard.
Voranovskis told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McKee prevents Voranovskis from improving his position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

McKee shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McKee showed some decent athleticism there.
McKee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Voranovskis can do to turn this around?

McKee takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McKee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Voranovskis for as long as he can get away with.
Voranovskis wants to control but McKee is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McKee works his way to his opponent's back.
McKee just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Darrion McKee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McKee has the hooks in. Voranovskis is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. McKee passes his arm under Voranovskis's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Voranovskis taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Darrion McKee!
